Close to 200 current and former occupants of military housing at Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West have filed a lawsuit alleging failure to manage and maintain the houses they live in. The plaintiffs point to persistent, intolerable conditions in their homes that they claim raise concerns about the risk of mesothelioma and other serious health problems. The suit names Balfour Beatty, the private company responsible for handling maintenance and repairs on behalf of the U.S. military.

The recent suit alleges that similar mismanagement happened at NAS Key West. The families claim that the company lied about the condition of the homes and failed to complete critical repairs, leaving residents at risk of long-term health consequences.
